What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Guinea Pig?

If you are wondering how long your guinea pig will live, the answer is that guinea pigs usually live between 4 and 5 years.

Guinea pigs usually have a short life span of 4 to 5 years when in captivity, however in the wild, their life span is usually even shorter.

If you have a new baby guinea pig, chances are that it will be with you for the next five years. Guinea pigs usually do not have many (if any) health problems before 4 years, so you should have a healthy guinea pig for the majority of your guinea pigs life.

If your guinea pig is around 4 of 5 years old, unfortunately you need to start getting ready to say good bye.

Aww, that is really sad. My guinea pig is 4 and a half now, and is experiencing problems breathing. I am going to take her to the vet tomorrow and see what the vet thinks.
