These two mice are caught in the longest staring contest of all time… and it’s cracking me up! I’ve never seen animals do this before!
After looking into it, apparently this very interesting behavior is pretty normal for mice, and what they’re doing here is working out between themselves who is the dominant rat of the pair. It’s a much more civil way of “hashing it out” than getting aggressive or fighting, so I say… do what you gotta do, fellas. Nothin’ to see here! (Okay, there is a lot to see here.)
*Note: these four mice in the video are not kept in the same cage. They sometimes play together in one cage, but they have plenty of space in multiple cages! No mice were abused in the making of this video.
