If you are wondering if you can catch spiders and feed them to your pet cat… well then you may need help that you wont be able to find online.
Cats, and many other animals find it fun to play with, and eat bugs. If you have a pet cat, you know fist hand that they love to find bugs crawling across the ground, and they love pawing, them, and licking them up.
Although most bugs are harmless to cats, some bugs can really hurt them, especially spiders.
The reason that spiders are so dangerous is because they are venomous. Although most spiders do not have enough venom to hurt your cat, if your cat picks up the wrong spider, it will be in trouble.
One of the main reasons cats are not usually effected by spider bites is because of their thick skin. (A cat’s skin is thicker, and stronger than a humans.) Because of this, most spiders cannot bite through the skin, and so cats do not get bitten often. A cats tongue, however is much easier to bite. It is also possible for a cat to be poisoned by a spiders venom being digested, after the cat eats it.
The best thing to do when it comes to cats, is to take away, and kill the spider if you see your cat playing with it. You should also try to teach your cat not to play with them.
In colder areas of the world there are less poisonous spiders, so you do not have to worry as much, but anywhere that you find spiders such as Brown Recluse, Black Widow or White Tail’s you should take extra care.
If you own a cat, you have probably seen it do something like this.
